Stance, Punches, Defense and Guards
Boxers can sometimes be seen tapping their cheeks or foreheads with their fists in order to remind themselves to keep their hands up.
Left to right: Full Crouch, Semi Crouch and Upright Stance
There are four basic punches in boxing: the jab, straight right/left hand, hook and uppercut.
Left to right: Cross Counter, Half Uppercut and Uppercut
Left to right: Hook, Jab and Short Straight Punch
There are several basic maneuvers a boxer can use in order to evade or block punches
Left to right:Blocking, Bobbing and Clinching
Left to right:Cover Up, Pulling Away and Slipping
There are several defensive positions (guards or styles) used in boxing. Some may have their guard higher for more head protection while others have their guard lower.
